Multicultural Australia for the Voice Town Hall

ECCV is co-hosting an interactive town hall next month with Settlement Services International and the Multicultural Australia for Voice alliance about the upcoming referendum on the Indigenous Voice to Parliament. Join us on 13 August at Springvale City Hall to discuss why constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is important, and how this can be achieved through a Voice to Parliament.
We will hear from guest speakers:
- Linda Burney MP, Minister for Indigenous Australians
- Tasneem Chopra OAM, cross-cultural consultant and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion trainer
- Michael Long OAM, activist and former athlete
- Majak Daw, former AFL player
Andrew Giles MP, Minister for Immigration, Citizenship & Multicultural Affairs, Clare O’Neil MP, Minister for Home Affairs & Cyber Security and Julian Hill MP, Federal Member for Bruce will also give short addresses at the event.
This event is an opportunity for our diverse communities to come together to discuss why constitutional recognition matters, what the Voice can achieve and how the support of multicultural communities is pivotal to a successful referendum. You will be able to share your thoughts, ask questions and find out more about how to get involved.
The interactive town hall will begin at 1pm with market stalls, live performances and other festivities kicking off at 12pm.
Festivities: 12pm | Interactive Town Hall: 1pm – 2:30pm
