To mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities, ECCV is holding a special online event on 7 December to talk about living well with disability and launch the first of the Victorian Speak My Language (Disability) podcasts.

Join us at 10:30am for a panel discussion with Victorian Speak My Language (SML) ‘storytellers’ and ‘travellers’, discussing their experiences creating the podcasts and sharing their stories. The panel will also include a representative from the national Speak My Language team who will provide an overview about the program.

Learn about the Speak My Language national program and how to get involved, whether you have a personal story tell about living well with disability or want to showcase a great inclusiveness initiative in your organisation. You’ll also have the opportunity to hear a preview of one of the Victorian Speak My Language podcasts.

The podcasts, which are being produced in 25 community languages nationally, feature people sharing real stories and practical advice about living well with disability. Podcasts in Arabic, Italian, Greek, Khmer, Maltese, Filipino, Punjabi, Tamil, Korean, Russian and more community languages are currently available on the Speak My Language website: https://speakmylanguage.com.au

Speak My Language (Disability) is a national initiative led by the Ethnic Communities Council of New South Wales and funded by Commonwealth Department of Social Services. The program is proudly delivered via an historic partnership between all State and Territory Ethnic and Multicultural Communities’ Councils across Australia.
