The Walter Lippmann Memorial Oration is hosted annually in honour of the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria founding member, Walter Lippmann.

Together with our partners, VITS Language Loop, we are honoured to present a leading advocate and orator

JULIAN BURNSIDE QC

Just as Walter once did, the oration pays homage to migrants,  human rights, and support for cultural diversity.

Julian is a respected Australian lawyer and human rights advocate best known for his condemnation of the Federal Government’s off-shore processing regime of asylum seekers.
