ECCV will be launching the Victorian Multicultural Mental Health Network in late 2022.

The Network will be a platform for key agencies, community organisations, researchers, clinical experts, advocates, carers and people with lived experience to share information and collaborate to promote the mental health needs of people from migrant and refugee backgrounds through an evidence-informed, strategic approach to policy and system design.

ECCV plans to hold meetings of the Network every month, starting in late 2022. We are currently inviting Expressions of Interest to join the Network from people who:

  • Work at multicultural or ethno-specific organisations that support the mental health and wellbeing needs of people from migrant and refugee backgrounds,
  • Are from a migrant and refugee background who have lived experience of using the mental health system, or
  • Are or have been the carer of a person from a migrant and refugee background who has used the mental health system.

Young people, people who have a disability and LGBTIQA+ people who fit the criteria above are also strongly encouraged to apply.

We cannot do this important work without you! Working together we can influence state government mental health policy to make sure that the voices of people from migrant and refugee backgrounds are heard in the mental health reform process.
