Eddie is the Immediate past Chairperson of the Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria (ECCV), the peak policy and advocacy body representing diverse Multicultural communities in Victoria and is active on ECCV Health committee and its Drugs Task force.
As a member of the ECCV leadership group – its role is important in developing a strategic role for the ECCV, he is often called on to represent the ECCV at various government/ community consultations and functions.
He has also been active in representing the ECCV on external organisations such as Hepatitis Victoria. He served in the Victorian Parliament from March 1983 –September 1999 during which he held numerous responsibilities covering Health, Industrial relations, Work cover & Multicultural affairs.
Eddie has a background in Occupational Health, and a long experience in Community Health, where he supported policy and programs enabling culturally diverse communities respond to drug and alcohol challenges they are dealing with. He is a former director of Inner South Community (STAR) Health Service.
