MMS Project- Bilingual fitness instructors

This project ended in late 2010 but for three years the Multicultural Multiactive Seniors' (MMS) Project supported bilingual people to train as Fitness Instructors. The program aimed to improve ethnic seniors' access to exercise through this funding and also the provision of exercise classes to ethnic seniors groups- click here for more details.

Participants trained in either Certificate III or IV in Fitness Instruction. After qualification many of  them worked as a group exercise instructors or personal trainers. All MMS trainees gained experience working with ethnic seniors in the community.
