Sexual Assault Prevention Project

The Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (La Trobe University), is currently undertaking research to explore the sexual assault of older women. This research aims to strengthen the community’s ability to prevent the sexual assault of older women in their homes, in aged care settings and in the wider community. The research team is currently calling for participants to contribute to this research and are keen to conduct confidential interviews with:

1) Older women who have been sexually assaulted (after the age of 65 years+)

2) The families/friends of older women who have been sexually assaulted

3) Service providers who work with older women / or other related services.

Alternatively, input can be provided via a confidential online survey, available at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/preventingsexualassaultofolderwomen

The research team are very keen to include the perspectives CALD women in this project.

This is a vital opportunity to provide the data and evidence that is needed to design and make a case for improved responses.
