Mapping Australia’s Population
Don't miss this fabulous research resource. The Scanlon Foundation has been Mapping Australia's population for some years now and their findings are of great use to us and to others interested in the public responses to multiculturalism, migration and refugees.
Apart from the preplanning for their commitment to repeat these surveys annually, the Foundation has supported at Monash University, under the direction of Professor Andrew Markus, the development of a website entitled Mapping Australia’s Population (MAP) to provide key factual information on Australia’s population, including a number of one page fact sheets.
MAP aims to provide independent, authoritative, evidence-based analysis of data on population and immigration in Australia, to inform media, public and policy debates.
This website http://www.arts.monash.edu.au/mapping-population/ seeks to augment informed discussion of immigration and population issues by making available:
- The Scanlon Foundation Mapping of Social Cohesion Surveys
- An Inventory of Australian Public Opinion Surveys
- Current Population and Immigration Statistics, and
- Population Maps
