IFA bannerWho Cares? We care.

On 4 May 2010, eccv coordinated the symposium Who Cares? Supporting Ethnic Family Carers at the International Federation of Ageing (IFA) 10th Global Conference in Melbourne. The symposium addressed the complex and often hidden needs of ethnic family carers in Victoria’s ageing and culturally diverse population from different perspectives of policymakers, practitioners, and academic researchers.

Marion Lau OAM JP, the Deputy Chair of eccv, presented Unready, Unwilling and Ageing: Strategies for supporting ethnic baby boomers and their parents

Thank you to

ECCV symposium participants at the IFA 10th Global Conference

On behalf of the ECCV and our IFA 2010 Organising Team, we would like to thank the symposium speakers from James Cook University and Carers Victoria as well as the participants at the Who Cares? Supporting Ethnic Family Carers Symposium at the IFA 10th Global Conference on 4 May in Melbourne.

ECCV provided positive and constructive feedback to the Melbourne IFA Conference organisers. We applaud their delivery of an exciting and stimulating program and for providing the opportunity to network with representatives from other broad-based organisations. Over 1000 delegates attended, with 500 papers in 200 hours of presentation.

The next IFA Conference will be in Prague in May 2012. For more information go to www.ifa-fiv.org

Kind Regards,

Marion Lau OAM, JP, Chairperson, Aged Care Policy Committee, ECCV
