ECCV 2016 Statewide Conference - The Next Generation of Multicultural Victoria: Intergenerational Perspectives

The Conference took place on Friday 11 November, 2016 in Ballarat, the fastest growing regional city in Victoria. It was organised jointly by the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria (ECCV) and Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council (BRMC). On Thursday November 10, Ballarat's new mayor, Cr. Samantha McIntosh officially launched the conference at the Ballarat Town with a Pre-Conference Mayoral Reception. Following the launch, locals and delegates enjoyed an exciting Pre-Conference Dinner at youth-run restaurant Housey Housey @ The Forge, Ballarat Central. It led public discussion on the changing face of multiculturalism in Victoria and generational transition, with people from different generations speaking on a vision for the future. The aim of the Conference was for ECCV, individuals and organizations to participate in a commitment or pledge to make practical and achievable changes in the next three years and beyond.
