Careers

The principle position in the eccv is policy officer which suits those with high academic qualifications but from time to time we also have places for project officers working to deliver specific outcomes for which we’ve been funded.

The eccv offers a great work environment for staff. Lots of very interesting work with the chance of working closely with a wide range of talented, knowledgeable people working in the public, private and community sectors.

Watch out for vacancies which will be posted as a rule on this website and in the usual web based employment sites.

We regularly offer places for student placements, typically to undertake an internership based on policy development and the producing of a research report.

If you are interested in a student placement or wish to talk about employment opportunities, please contact the office.

Interns

The ECCV is always interested in hosting student interns although we can usually only take on one person at a time. Interns we take are usually in their final year of a relevant degree.

If you are interested, please contact us at eccv@eccv.org.au and we will get back to you and talk about the possibilities.

As we are largely a policy and advocacy body interns normally undertake a research project resulting in a paper to meet their academic requirements but at the same time many are good enough with some ‘tweaking’ to become formal eccv policy papers. These are lodged on our website for comment before being used to advance policy development or debate.

Volunteers

ECCV Executive members are all volunteers and like most community based organizations we would not be able to function without the great work that volunteers do and the time they devote to the organisation’s governance.

Members of the Executive are elected but there are still areas of involvement where general volunteers can make their mark such as being part of one of our policy committees. At the moment these committees include our Women’s, Youth, New & Emerging communities, Health and Aged Care committees. There may also be opportunities for more general volunteer assistance on projects or in the office particularly from those with a particular skill. Those skills in short supply include accounting, media, events management, communications, IT and graphic design.
